Piano Posture Tips

EMMA BLAIR PIANO

Breathe, have a good attitude, and stay relaxed.

Your forearms should be parallel to the floor.  Keep your weight planted through your seat, and rest your feet flat on the floor.

Make sure the bench is at the right height.

Fingers & Wrist

Keep your fingers curved and your wrist flexible.

This will help keep your wrists from sinking and will keep the gentle curve of the fingers intact as you play.

Play with the fingertips.

Keep your head and neck in a line.

Sit up straight and tall.  Don't lean backward or forward. Angle your knees just under the keyboard. Most of all, enjoy your playing!
